If you’re an established founder in your 20s or 30s, you’ve been heads down for years, and you’re ready to work on both the business and yourself, yes. That’s exactly who it’s built for.

If you’re just starting out, you’re flying and don’t want time off, or you really just want to relax, it probably isn’t. There are cheaper ways to get what you need.

Here’s the honest version, from the person who runs it.

What Driven Young is

Driven Young runs the Founders Retreat: seven days in a private villa in Canggu, Bali, for 20 founders and business owners in their 20s and 30s. Phones go away on day one.

The week mixes three things most retreats keep separate: wellness, business and personal development. Mornings are breathwork, yoga, ice baths and the sauna. Days are business strategy, systems, AI and marketing, done with pen and paper around a table. There’s a sunrise volcano hike, a private chef, and time to actually think.

You can see the full seven-day itinerary and the villa.

What it costs

The price depends on the room you choose.

Room Price
Quad shared suite (your own single bed, four to a room) $4,999 + GST per person
Shared suite (two to a room) $5,499 + GST per person
Private room with a king bed $6,999 + GST per person
Private bungalow $7,999 + GST per person
Couples suite $7,999 + GST per room
Couples bungalow $8,999 + GST per room

That covers your room, every meal, all sessions and activities, and a welcome pack. Flights to Bali aren’t included. Payment plans are available, with a $500 fee.

What you actually get

The founders who’ve been put it better than I can.

Before going, I was at a real breaking point with my business. I felt overwhelmed, exhausted, and was genuinely close to walking away from it all. Taking a step back for a week felt hard, but it ended up being exactly what I needed.

Kirsten Mitchell, Sutherland Shire Raw

Went into the DY retreat with pretty low expectations it was going to improve me or my business. I was in a pretty bad place leading up to it and it completely changed that. I’ve come home feeling like I know what I need to do to get back on track. Would recommend to anyone feeling burnt out.

Tom Osborne, Raytek

What you think your going to get out of this, multiply it by ten and you will come close to what this retreat will do for you.

Jake Davidson, Bunbury Maintain A Door

The same three things come up again and again: the people in the room, a proper reset, and clarity on what to do next.

The honest trade-offs

  • It’s a real cost. From $4,999 + GST, plus flights. Compare it with what another year of running the business the same way is costing you, not with a holiday.
  • You’re away from the business for a week. Set up cover with your team before you go.
  • Phones are off all week. That’s the point, but plan for it.
  • The lower-priced rooms are shared. Shared rooms are gendered, and you’ll have your own bed. Private rooms and bungalows cost more.
  • It’s not a holiday. You work on the business and on yourself, and some of that gets personal.

It made me look inward, confront feelings I probably hadn’t properly dealt with, and understand myself a little better.

Jeevan, Debtox Management

  • It’s application only. It’s built for established businesses doing $100K or more, so not everyone who applies gets a spot.

Who it isn’t worth it for

You’re probably not ready yet if:

  • You’re just starting out. Your time and money are better spent getting the business working first.
  • You’re full of energy and crushing it. If you don’t want time off right now, a retreat will feel like it’s in the way.
  • You just want to relax. This week is personal development and business development. If you only want to switch off, a wellness retreat or a holiday will suit you better, and both cost less.

So, is it worth it?

For the right founder, the people who’ve been say yes.

You just can not replicate an experience like this one, you truly find the answers and the people you didn’t know you needed. I would have absolutely regretted not going now that I have come out the otherside. The value is endless.
